Winning a citywide medical art contest at the age of six, Phyllis Nathans continued to explore her passion for art throughout her childhood and teenage years. She earned a National Scholastic Art Award In drawing and a scholarship to The Philadelphia College Of Art In Philadelphia, Pa, where she received her BFA In Illustration and Design.
For more than twenty years, Phyllis worked as a freelance artist across the country in various areas of publishing, primarily editorial, medical Illustration and advertising. For the last seventeen years she has concentrated on producing original watercolor images with strong design, color and detail in her working studio at Towles Court, Sarasota, Florida.
Phyllis’s work can be found in the Malvern Public Library, Malvern, Pa, and in numerous private collections in Sarasota, around the country, Canada and Europe.
