Archival Limited Edition vs Giclee

My patrons frequently ask about the meaning of "archival limited edition " sometimes referred to as a giclee. Put simply, archival limited edition is a high-quality reproduction of an original artwork that offers an affordable alternative for buyers with an added boost to value by limiting the number to only a small circulation. Giclee is a digital print that may or may not be premium in quality. Working closely with my printer to produce vivid color and accuracy to the originals, I encourage the up-close comparison test. Some pieces start as low as $35.

SHOP FOR ART

Art is just good for your soul. It's an ancient form of communication and still works today. Surrounding yourself with good artwork in your home or office lets you express and share your views and tastes however bold or subtly. It can create and evoke a mood filled with emotion, encouraging fun, relaxation and even excitement. Owning and observing art promotes and stimulates interest and creativity in yourself and others.

At eye level in your home or office, something of quality will add dimension, warmth and personal style.

For all these reasons, purchasing both original and fine art limited edition prints can be thrilling.  Many sizes can be magical alone or in combination groupings.

Limited edition archival prints can do all this and more yet be affordable for yourself and others.

Indulge yourself

Back to Business

Recently sold a home and anyone who has dealt with that experience especially in this market knows how difficult and weary the process can become. The final step for me was removing the artwork off the walls for I so enjoyed the gallery effect throughout the house. Then once removed, it was time to move on.

ART AS GIFTS

If you've never received or given a piece of art before, it's not the complicated process you might think. Versatile, affordable, and lasting, art is always a special gift. Most small print sizes are frame-ready--a great way to start a collection. Limited edition makes your gift even more distinctive.

UNDERSTANDING ART SERIOUSLY

In April 2016, John Lasater posted a blog entitled The Twelve O'Clock-A Case for Representational Painting in the 21st Century. As a representational artist himself, he offers an informative essay on how viewing art evolved and describes that at some point during the 20th Century, artists viewed imagination to have greater significance over the image and craftsmanship declines when the idea becomes more important and the farther from nature, the less engaging.

I find his blog to be enlightening for I also consider myself a representational artist as my subject matter represents reality and is based on careful drawings which I find is the fundamental framework for all my painted images. My viewpoint is that the conceptual aspect of a painting needs to be successfully manifested through the handling of the medium which then creates the character and qualities of the work. Art can then speak for itself. http://lasaterart.com/the-twelve-oclock-a-case-for-representational-painting-in-the-21st-century/

ALMOST A SQUARE

"Almost a square" is one of my favorite dimensional formats in painting. Also being so versatile for wall placement by boldly standing alone or with companion pieces. The still life Pears n Corks, is a more recent and popular example that is for sale at The Watercolor Store and also available at Towles Court Studio #203 on 1938 Adams Place Sarasota Fl. Rich in contrasts and details with complimentary colors. Available in various sizes.

Tropical Wall Art

The wonderment of nature holds deep mystery and fascination for me and the use of detail in both my paintings and foundation drawings is an attempt to experience and share that mystique. My latest tropical watercolor painting highlighted on my home page BOP Duel, Bird of paradise in Paradise, features the south Floridian white version plant resembling a bird's nest among lush foliage.
